Jillian Lorenz, Co-CEO & Co-Founder.
Jillian Lorenz grew up dancing and performing from a young age and uncovered her love for choreography during her time on her state-recognized high school pom team. Jillian has choreographed and participated in performances across the United States, including college bowl games and presidential inaugural events. Jillian earned her B.A. in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University, where she was the president of her sorority Alpha Chi Omega. During college, Jillian also worked for a pom and dance company, where she was able to combine her love for coaching with choreography and performance. Jillian began intensively studying biomechanical engineering, as it allowed her to explore her interest in this area and make parallels between engineering and the human body. After graduating from Michigan State, Jillian joined a large consulting firm, where she spent over ten years immersing herself in the business world and serving on various women’s leadership committees. While traveling for business, Jillian began creating fitness regimens for both her own physique and her colleagues. Developing a following from leading workouts while on the road, Jillian recognized that certain combination of movements she put together produced more rapid results than conventional techniques. With a gift for creation and choreography, a passion for fitness, an educational foundation in engineering, and a ten-year business background, Jillian was ready to join forces with co-founder Ariana Chernin to launch Barre Bee Fit. Jillian has served as a lululemon athletica ambassador and has been featured on Good Day Chicago as post-natal fitness expert (as a mother herself), as well as highlighted alongside Ariana in SELF Magazine and Prevention Magazine for her fitness expertise. Jillian has completed executive education leadership programs at the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and is a certified fitness professional through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, being both a women’s fitness specialist and MMA conditioning specialist.

Emily Torockio, Director of Content & Brand Development.
Emily Torockio has always considered fitness to be an important part of her life, but it was only after finding Barre Bee Fit that she was truly able to call it a passion. Having played volleyball in high school and taken group fitness classes during and after college, Emily fortuitously discovered Barre Bee Fit in early 2011 and has never looked back. After earning a B.A. in Gender Studies and Art Theory and Practice from Northwestern University, Emily accepted a job in Taipei to work as a writer and section editor for one of the country’s leading English newspapers. Prior to coming on full-time, Emily spent her spare time doing freelance social media and marketing work for BBF, including starting and maintaining the blog. Now, Emily plans events and special challenges, works to foster partnerships with other businesses in the community, and creates the fresh, fun content that truly elevates BBF above its competitors.
